(My own Culture and society)

he values for my own society is that anyone is treated equal unless proven wrong which means their are certain punishment for certain rules broken Also everyone will be nice and try to help people in need. Social norms should stay the same because social norms play apart in religion. Gender roles would be free roles meaning that anyone can call themselves whatever they like so they don’t have to pronounce she or he. Religion will play a big part in this community because there would be a lot of problems if we have two different types of religion in the same place or that will cost a lot of conflict and can create war so so this will be based on what my community is in too and having them create their own religion and anyone that doesn’t play along with this then they will be executed because we don’t want to cause problems. Art would be something that represents us as a community and making it beautiful celebrations would be for making it a successful year for everyone and getting through the year strong and also having my whole community in one place so we can have food and have fun for a day or night. The Communication would be between me and the community so if we were to have a problem all the news would come to me so that i can find a way to solve it also if someone was talking to someone amongst the community they would be banned or killed so these were my elements for my own community and society.

(Okonkwo and his culture)

In Things Fall Apart, which is set in Nigeria in the early 1900s, Chinua Achebe describes Igbo culture, which encompasses polytheistic religion, father-son inheritance, farming traditions, and belief in evil spirits. And When he was introduced to new culture he reacted negatively and began to undermine them, he remained true to his culture but one can possibly say that the Western culture killed him. The consequences of Okonkwo’s response to the culture is that he became deeply grieved as he saw the clan fall apart. The upshot of all this is that although Okonkwo himself doesn’t really change, he is nonetheless changed by the gradual undermining of traditional Igbo culture under the encroachments of British colonial rule. Which he had to follow because the community forced him too. Because of this he was  feeling hopeless, Okonkwo gives up and hangs himself. He commits suicide because he cannot deal with the changes that the Christian white men are making in his village.
